A joint site for CCPIT and the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), these organizations provide services for both Chinese and foreign businesses.  Sections on their site include a Business Guide, Exhibitions 2001, Statistics, and Links.

One of the best places to start, the China Country Commercial Guide is divided into easy to use sections and provides a wealth of practical data on all aspects of exporting to China.

China Gateway, under the US Department of Commerce’s International Information Agency, directs visitors to information about China’s business environment.
 

China Online:  www.chinaonline.com/

U.S.-based site for China business news and information, with industry information, daily news updates, statistics, and company profiles.   The “Reference Tools” section is particularly helpful.
   
Chinese Embassy in Washington:  www.china-embassy.org
This site has information on China-U.S. relations, updated news reports, visa and passport applications, and an economy and trade section.   Follow the “Economy and Trade” section to find links to many Chinese government agencies.  (Some are in Chinese only.)

This site offers links to trade leads and online business directories.
   

Foreign Agricultural Service - China Data:  www.fas.usda.gov

This USDA service works to improve foreign market access for U.S. food and agricultural products. In addition to more than 700 market research reports, this site offers exporter assistance programs, import and export data, trade leads, overseas offices, news releases and export guides.
   

International Trade Administration:  www.ita.doc.gov

A good starting point.  Follow the Trade Information Center link for basic trade and industry information.

The Chamber of Commerce in China represents U.S. companies and individuals doing business in China.  It provides services and helps them to work with Chinese and U.S. government authorities.  An online version of its monthly China Briefs includes articles on legal, business and tax issues.

Created by the Ministry of Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation.  Sections include Companies, Business News, Regional Information, Exhibitions and Fairs, ChinaInvest, and Laws and Regulations.

Offers a variety of information; including customs and tariff regulations for exporting products to China.

The embassy’s web site offers information on economic, agricultural, commercial and technology sectors in China.  Follow the Foreign Commercial Service link for tips on doing business in China, weekly updates on Chinese industry and service sectors, an introductory guide to doing business in China and China Commercial Brief, a biweekly, email-based information service.

Ministry of Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation web site offers a wealth of trade-related statistics.

Company directory with 1 million company listings in more than 70 countries.
