Invest in Minnesota

In addition to promoting Minnesota exports, the Minnesota Trade Office (MTO) also participates in efforts to attract foreign direct investment in Minnesota. If a foreign company or investor is interested in opening an operation in the U.S., we encourage them to select Minnesota as the location for their facility. Whether seeking joint venture partners, looking for a business location or sourcing suppliers, it pays to consider Minnesota. Minnesota is already home to hundreds of foreign-owned companies.

The MTO, working together with the Department of Employment and Economic Development's Business and Community Development division, provides investment leads and supports meetings and interactions with potential foreign investors. Potential investors wishing to discuss how Minnesota can assist you with your business needs: please contact the MTO at 651-259-7498 or mto@state.mn.us.

Minnesota is a great place to grow a business. We have a strong and healthy economy, a great work ethic, abundant capital and the best quality of life in America. And we have the report cards to prove it. For the ninth consecutive year, Minnesota has made the Corporation for Enterprise Development’s honor roll in business vitality, economic performance and development. The Twin Cities are ranked the 13th most competitive knowledge economy in the world. And Morgan Quitno Press has named Minnesota the “Most Livable State” for seven of the past eight years. These are just a few reasons we're so positive about Minnesota.
