Certificates of Free Sale

Foreign governments sometimes require a "Certificate of Free Sale" for companies to import certain products, often food or cosmetic items. The Certificate of Free Sale states that these goods are legally sold or distributed in the U.S. market.

For a processing fee of $15 per certificate, the Minnesota Trade Office may issue Certificates of Free Sale for items produced and sold in Minnesota. For more information, please contact Jackie Geiger, MTO Office Administrator, at 651-259-7485 or jackie.geiger@state.mn.us.
